Film balkonowy

The idea comes across like an artistic response to Corona restrictions, but actually stems from pre-pandemic times. For a period of two years, Łoziński positioned himself on the balcony of his apartment and observed the people passing in the street below. The set-up is always the same: as soon as passersby enter into his camera’s field of view, Łoziński speaks to them, asks questions, listens, and creates a space for conversations about the big and small things in life, about personal problems, intimate thoughts, their view of the world. An entirely normal Warsaw sidewalk thus becomes a stage for random encounters, a microcosm of Polish society.
